Parish Partner Guidelines
Catholic Extension’s Parish Partnership Program provides a central point of contact for connecting parishes across the country wishing to help parishes in mission areas of the United States. This an opportunity for all parishes to extend a helping hand to our sisters and brothers in need.
Parishes wishing to “partner” with a mission parish are free to determine the duration and extent of their support, whether a one-time gift or an ongoing relationship. Donor parishes can be assured that 100% of all funds will be distributed as directed by them.
GUIDELINES
- After making a decision to become a “Parish Partner,” prospective donor parish decides on size of financial commitment, duration and type of support.*
- Parish Partnership Program Registration Form is completed by parish representative and sent to Catholic Extension.
- Catholic Extension identifies a Parish Partner and sends information to donor parish.
- Donor parish accepts “partner” match, reaffirms commitment and sends gift for parish to Catholic Extension. Recipient parish is notified as well.
- Catholic Extension coordinates continuing distribution of full amount of donations to designated parish.
- Recipient parish and/or Catholic Extension notifies donor parish of receipt of each gift.
* Donor and recipient partner parishes may decide to institute additional contacts, correspondence or services. These would be direct parish-to-parish contacts and arrangements, separate from any scheduled gift payments sent through Catholic Extension. While the Parish Partnership Program is especially intended to facilitate financial gifts between parishes and provide accountability to donors, some parishes may wish to offer only volunteers or goods or services. Catholic Extension would be pleased to assist by contacting appropriate diocesan staff to identify parishes in need of such support. If such a match can be made, further coordination and contact with recipient parishes would then be the responsibility of the donor parish.
