Partnership Ideas

Now that your group has registered for the Parish Partnership Youth Program, what's next?  Here are a couple of tips to make your partnership a rewarding experience for everyone.

  • Establish contact with your new Parish Partner.
    •  Ask questions and learn all you can about the parish: their needs, challenges they face and what parish life is like.
    • Check Who Needs Your Help for additional information about your Parish Partner.
    • Share information about your group and express how you wish to help.
    • Send cards or notes to your Parish Partner's youth so your group can connect with those of a similar age.
  • Create a group project to discover facts and stories about your Parish Partner's region.  Divided into teams, one group could report on the geography and local economy while others research the history of the diocese and unique religious traditions.
  • Visit Partnership Stories to discover what other Youth Program groups are doing to support their Parish Partner.
  • Share photographs and stories with the Parish Partnership website.  What has your group learned? What have they shared with other youth? What special projects have you done or plan to do in the future to help your Parish Partner?
  • Take advantage of free resources provided by Catholic Extension that would be helpful in the classroom to further teach youth about the challenges facing today's mission parishes.
  • Be creative.  Check out Partnership Stories to learn how other parishes are helping in unique ways.
